| Hi. I am in the medical field and I also have asthma. I experienced many of
the things you describe until last year when my doctor decided to try a new mediocation. It is called Accolate and is
taken twice a day. It has been like a miracle for me. I went from 12 ER visits and two hospitalizations in the year before
I started it... and have only had 2 ER visits and NO hospitalizations since I have been taking it. There are no side
effects for me and it has been shown to work on 70% of astmatics.
Good luck and I hope you improve. |

| You have a very informative site. I don't have asthma but I do have a rare
lung disease. It does effect your whole family. I have seen the expressions on my husbands face when I have a problem
breathing and he gets so upset. I refuse the medication because of the side effects. There is no cure so the medicine can
not heal me. I saw so many things in your site that hit home. Thanks for sharing. |

| Hello! What an informative and inspiring site! I hope you realize how many
people out there you are helping, and just how appreciated you are! My nephew, when he was very young had an asthma attack
and simply stopped breathing! Fortunately, he's fine now, but how frightening it was to realize his problem in such a way!
I wish you much luck and love. Please take care of yourself! You should be very proud of this site! Thank you so much for
sharing!! |

| MMMM very enlighting as I was told 10 yrs ago I had Industral Asthma, I too
have had all the medications. I have had all types of inhalors, pills and even many breathing treatments. About 3 yrs,I had
an accident and broke my leg,it shattered the femur just about the knee. I tell you this because, the doctor told me that
one of the side effects of Prednisone is that it makes your bones brittle. I NO longer take or will let them prescrib it
to me, and use an alternate drug. Now I use less and less of the medications. Thanks for sharing the information, I have
learned alot. |

| Heard that you aren't feeling well and wanted to stop in and say hello! I
was born with asthma, and suffered with it till the age of 4 or 5 when I evidentially outgrew it. I have many allergies
and medical problems though, and I know it's no fun feeling sickish a lot! I will be praying for you and I hope that you
get better. Have you considered moving? |

| I want to thank you for taking the care and time to make a page about
asthma. I suffered from it from it beginning at age 6 months until I was 18 years old. I hope that you will feel better
soon. Hugs, Missybelle. |

| wow, thank you for all the information. i am so sorry that you have had to
go thru all of this but thankful that you and your husband persevered! I was diagnosed with asthma last year, but very
mild so far. It only kicks up (mildly) in the spring so far when the cottonwood is blowing around, however I have started
to notice other things bothering me. You have a wonderful site here and I am glad I found it. will check back often.

| When I read your story I felt I was reading my own life and feelings... I
had my first attack 3yrs ago and my life has spiraled out of control since then.. My asthma is so bad I have to be trached
for it and I am at least once a month on 500 mg of salumedrol which has left me quite heavy and hungary all the time...
all alot of people can see is my weight and not what I have been through... to make matters complicated I also have
insulin dependent diabetes and chronic bronchitis,, all they can do is put me in the hospital about once a month and try
to get everything under control... no one understands how horrible you feel as you are going through this and no one can
help me.. Thank you for writing your story,, someone needs to |
