One of the most interesting features of a person is how different that person may be from every one else.  Individuality is one of the most exciting qualities of a human being.  However, being unique does not mean that the person can have absolutely bad manners and be accepted because that is the way the person is, or that makes the person different.

Bad manners say a lot about the individual who displays them, especially because it shows an incredible degree of ignorance.  A person who intentionally, or unintentionally says something negative, hurtful, untrue, exaggerated or altered about something, does it not only because he wants to cause harm but he also does it out of ignorance.  Bear in mind that an ignorant person can be very highly educated and still is ignorant.  At varied degrees we all have been guilty of the practice of bad manners and ignorance, but some people take it to new heights.

I am going to give you an example of what I am talking about.  This is an email I received from a "gentleman" that lives in England:

"What confidence could anyone have in your very odd and uninformative site,  the main feature of which seems to be nudes, when you don't appear to know that the drug is called Prednisolone, at least in the UK?"

Because it is the first time that I hear the name of Prednisolone, and I don't want to be as ignorant as the person who wrote this email, I did some research.  I checked my references at www.webmd.com, www.drkoop.com, and www.askjeeves.com and this is the information I found:

"Prednisone and Prednisolone are steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, used to treat a wide variety of conditions such as autoimmune diseases, ulcerative colitis, asthma, dermatological disorders, Crohn’s disease, tendonitis, bursitis, to prevent organ transplant rejection, and in many chemotherapeutic regimens." (Ref: http://www.vitaminevi.com/Drug/Prednisone.htm . www.askjeeves.com)

As per the Drug Information Handbook for the Allied Health Professional with indication/therapeutic category Index, 7th edition 2000 - 2001, Prednisone is the generic name for Deltasone, Liquid Pred, Meticorten, Orisone, and Prednicen-M.  Prednisolone is the generic name for Delta-Cortel, Key-Pred-SP, Pediapred, and Prednisol, and even though both of them share some of the same qualities, Prednisolone is widely use for other diseases such as endocrine disorders, dermatologic diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, ophthalmologic diseases and several more.

Thanks to the above email, and my son's Drug Information handbook for the Allied Health Professional,  I now  have information and knowledge, which equals power.

This person also mentions that the main feature of my site seems to be nudes........  I wonder what he is talking about or which site he was visiting.  Not only have I gotten the seal of "family safe site" but I have gone through my site in its entirety and the only image that I can find that is risqué is a gift I was sent by a friend.

Why I am taking the time to use this email as an example?  It is not because it bothered me as I actually found it highly amusing and a way for me to learn.  It is to show that when a person is unhappy and uninformed, he/she will go to extreme lengths attempting to make less of others, their efforts, research, and knowledge.  What is the best way to make less of others others?  to maliciously criticize their work without any regard for facts.

Do not let a person like this make you feel bad.  Don't believe even for a second, that your illness is unimportant, that what you know about your illness/disease is garbage.  What you are going through it is important and matters not only to you but to others.
